ABOUT ABOUT
On February 29th Fire fan Matt Mason will set out on a grueling hike through the Appalachian Trail. Matt will attempt to conquer this path carrying a Chicago Fire Soccer Club flag to raise money and awareness for the Chicago Fire Foundation. Matt has set a goal of $2,181, one dollar for every mile of the trail, and Section 8 Chicago is proud to help him achieve it.

To give some perspective on this daunting task, the Appalachian Trail starts at Springer Mountain in northern Georgia and extends 2,184.2 miles through 14 states to Mount Katadhin in Maine.

Each year, the Chicago Fire Foundation renews its commitment to improve the quality of life for youth and communities throughout Chicagoland by promoting health and wellness, education, and the environment. The Foundation also supports organizations that share this vision so as to further extend the investment needed to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our children.
